For many years I've been fascinated with
glass of all kinds, its richness of color, liveliness and beauty, but it wasn't till 2001 that I
picked up a rod of colored glass and made a bead. Instant passion!
Since 2002 I've had my own workshop and studio in Canberra. Set in my beautiful Japanese garden of azaleas
and maples, it has enough space for the "making" workbenches and equipment (the kiln,
oxygen extraction machine and gas cylinder) and the "putting it all together" work tables with
everything I need to turn individual beads into completed jewellery pieces.
Apart from my own handmade glass, I use semi-precious stones, metals and African beads in my
jewellery.
I sell from my studio and also through galleries and shops. I make a lot of commissioned pieces
and I love working with clients to design their jewellery, thinking about the subtleties of
color and texture, pattern, size and balance.
My jewellery is in private collections in Australia, England, America, Japan, Germany, Denmark,
Luxembourg, Switzerland and South Africa.
It's a pleasure to have visitors in the workshop and enjoying the garden. Please contact me if
you'd like to visit and watch beautiful beads being handmade.
